My First Day of PA School

So many of you know I had my first day of Physician Assistant School on Monday (yesterday) Aug. 24, 2009.

I can't describe how nervous, scared, complete and excited I feel all at the same time. This is a huge undertaking and I have been working toward this day for the last 5 years +. So much time, effort, sweat, tears, self-examination, self-actualization has happened to get me to this point. I know I have a long road ahead. I feel like I am accomplishing one of my life's greatest missions (I feel there will be many different ones).

I want to challenge all my awesome friends out there to really look inside yourself and think of something, a goal maybe, of which you want to accomplish AND DO IT. I never thought I would feel so sure of my path in life as I do right now and it is a great feeling. My favorite quote is
"Anything in life worth having is never easy" and I like to add "or convenient."

Enough of this sappy stuff, I just wanted to thank everybody for helping me get here, being supportive and kind and at the end of 32 months I will graduate.

Wow! What an accomplishment! I'm at the stage in life where I wish I was sure of what I want to do.

How did you get to the place where
you knew what you wanted?

I am so happy for you but mostly just proud, I love telling people my big sister is in med school :) You have come so far in your education and I know how hard it has been to make this decision to continue on with your education. I am glad you have found that peace knowing you are on the right path. Congrats! p.s. YOU ARE A TOURO!!!

Yay Kim! I was thinking about you the other day. I am so proud of you! You did it. Good luck with this new adventure, I am sure you will do amazing. I was actually thinking the other day that if you guys ever end up back in Utah, you'll have to PA for my dad. He is sick of all the idiots at his hospital!

Congrats! That is such a big accomplishment. PA school, I can't even imagine how tough that would be. I myself have set the goal to complete nursing school before starting a family. It has definitely been the longest and hardest time of my life but like you, I know that this is the right path for me. But when it gets so overwhelming and difficult, I just tell myself "Of course it's hard... if it were easy, everyone would do it." I admire you for all your hard work and your determination to keep this goal. You are going to be a great PA. Best of luck to you!!
