Camelback Hike

Kim and I (Jake) decided to take a few hours away from school and work and go into Phoenix to hike Camelback Mountain. It's in the middle of the city, and it's not really a mountain. Its more like some hilly rocks, much like you would find at the City of Rocks. It was a beautiful day to get outside, right around 60 degrees and sunny when we started the ascent. It's only about 3 miles round trip, but the climb takes you up about 1,500 feet, so it's fairly steep. There were a TON of people and dogs on the trail, but it was still a lot of fun!

Kim posing at the top. Just behind her are sheer cliffs.
Us at the top. There were about 15 Thunderbird alum's who had made the hike and were kind enough to take some glamour shots of us.
The great city of Phoenix, Arizona. 5th largest city in the U.S.

About halfway up the trail. It got a lot steeper afte that.
3/4ths the way up. I didn't think we'd ever really make it.
Kim perfectly posing like she always does. I didn't mean to get so much sun in the photo.

Kim I think all those beauty pageants really paid off for you. Your such a poser! I love it. I'm so jealous of your nice weather.

Yep, I am now convinced after seeing these photos that I definitely would NOT have made it to the top...

Way to go guys, Camelback is an awesome hike! I thought it was super steep, especially the part with the bar.

The weather looks so nice. It's so freaking cold in Logan right now! I wish I lived in Arizona and could be outside and tan all day like you twos! Got your message PS, we do need to catch up soon! Are you coming to utah at all?
