New Ride...

After we had settled in nicely to our new Arizona home, we decided to start looking at alternate modes of transportation for me to get to school, other than Kim's car. We live within a 5 block radius of my school, Kim's job at the hospital and her one class this fall at ASU. So we looked around and decided to get a motorcycle to run around on. It'll be nice to be able to ride all year round and take fun little trips here and there. I hadn't ridden a motorcycle much since I was a kid, but it came back pretty quick!

Well, we made it through the big move. I arrived in Glendale, Arizona on July 29th and Kim flew down the week after, once she had finished all her summer classes. We've been extremely busy painting our new apartment and trying to get everything unpacked and decorated. As you can see, Kim has done a pretty good job with things. Our place is small, but we love it.

It's been pretty hot since we've been here, usually a high around 105 to 110 with lows at night from 85 to 90. Its going to start to cool off soon, which will be nice. You can only spend so many hours a day at the pool!

I start my classes in a few weeks and I have some orientations coming up soon. It will be busy, but fun. We plan on going to some Diamondbacks, Cardinals, and Coyotes games, and anything else exciting we can do. We have had a great time since we've been down here, and look forward to more good times.

bear lake baby!

During the 24th of July for as long as I can remember, the Bitner side (Mom's) of my family gets together for a big family reunion at Bear Lake. We stay in the condo at Ideal Beach (Sweetwater) and just have a blast.

There's always so much to do, golf, ride waverunners, boat, swim, play basketball and tennis and just lounge around and hang out. As you can see in the pictures, Kim had a fabulous time on the waverunner, and my niece Cecily was pretty excited about building sandcastles!

But it will do.... Since we only have a few more weeks left in beautiful Utah, we have been trying to spend as much time outdoors as possible. It's kinda tough with school and work to take much time off, but we try to go camping or biking at least once a week. Our latest adventures took us camping just off the Logan River (where we found a sweet little campsite where you don't have to pay and is pretty secluded) and biking up to the Jardine Juniper and Old Ephraim's Grave.

One Loooooong Bike Ride

Kim and I have started biking every day, every other day, every three days, or every week or so....We actually try and do some kind of exercise everyday, and are actually pretty good at it. I sold my body (donating plasma, I know what you're thinking) to buy us bikes last year and we are finally getting good enough to conquer some rough terrain. Cache Valley has a ton of great trails and we are learning which ones we like best. Our latest endeavor took us up Green Canyon, which by the way, was really green. The trail wasn't too difficult, but it was a gradual ascent of about 2,000 feet, 6 miles long one way and a bit rocky.

Family Pictures.....

The last time my family took a 'Family Picture' was right after I got home from my mission, circa 1903 (2003 actually). Needless to say, it had been a long time since we had all been together, cleaned up in a respectable manner, and found someone that could stand us all together to snap a few pics on a decent camera. We also had all grown significantly since the last time, mostly horizontally, although I did increase the length of my curly locks at the request of my wife. Since my youngest brother Nate just got his mission call to California and is leaving in September, that Kim and I will be moving to Phoenix in August, Emily finally had a boy (after 3 girls), Seth was married long enough that we think it will last, and my dad's realization that he's not as immortal as he thought...well, we figured those were enough reasons to make it work.

We went with the classic 'white with jeans' look, and posed overlooking the mighty Bear River in east Tremonton. This picture is just of me and Kim, and then just my siblings (front row - Emily 27, Ashley 14ish?, Sara 16 and back row - Me 25, Nate 18, Seth almost 23). Maybe I'll get a whole family one up soon.

Moving on......

Well, it seems like I haven't been too diligent with the blog lately, but I resolve to try and do a better job. Life is moving on for me and Kim, she is taking two summer classes, starting June 11th (her birthday), Genetics and Human Anatomy. Hopefully she maintains her sanity, and I think she will. She got a jumpstart on the classes and has been listening to past lectures and taking notes. She'll just have one more class, which she's taking at ASU-West and she will graduate!

Work is good for me, I'll be putting in my 30 day notice soon, and hopefully will be done around the middle of July. I start school at Thunderbird in August, and we will be moving to Glendale around the end of July/first week of August. We are looking forward to the heat and baseball.

Not a whole lot else is new. Hope I didn't miss anything. Keep in touch.

New Camera Doesn't Impress Masses

After my final semester at USU was paid for by my a portion of my left kidney, I found that I had a small remaining part that I could still use to barter for cash. So I did so, and with new found riches, purchased the first digital camera Kim or I had ever owned. The first picture I took with it, as you can see above, did not produce the rave reviews I had hoped.
