Kim's Master's degree

Also, Kim is starting her master's degree this month; she says she is pretty excited to be working on a 'real' education that is much more career-oriented, but I think she just wants to have a master's degree because I am getting my MBA. No competition there. She'll be getting a Master's degree in Health Professions Education with a Medical emphasis at A.T. Still University and plans on teaching at a junior college or university when she's done. It will take her 20 months to finish and she'll be able to do a lot of it online, which is good as we're gonna be moving around a lot. The program is also a feeder into the Ph.D program so if she wants to, down the road she can do that and it would only take her another 20 months or so. I guess that would mean I would need my Ph.D too... Good luck Kimberly!

"Home of the world’s first osteopathic medical school, established in 1892, A.T. Still University is recognized around the world. A renowned, multidisciplinary healthcare educator, ATSU instills in students the knowledge, integrity, compassion, and hands-on experience needed to address the needs of the whole person. A.T. Still University provides graduate and professional school programs in healthcare fields at campuses in Kirksville, Missouri, and Mesa, Arizona."

Kim's television debut!!

So my beautiful wife is now a TV star. The Price is Right: Kim Edition debuted on Thursday, February 21. It was all that we had hoped for and more. It was a lot of fun to see Kim on TV for so long, you could really tell that Drew Carey wanted her to win. She didn't unfortunately, and for those of you in Utah who did not get to see if because as my Dad puts it, "it took an act of God to interrupt Kim's 15 minutes of fame," because of the lame-o Nevada earthquake coverage on KUTV (don't worry, I already sent a mean email) you may please enjoy the following videos.....The first video isn't complete, it doesn't show her play for the car...but you can go to http://www.cbs.com/daytime/price/video/ and watch 02/21/2008
The Price Is Right: February 21, 2008 Episode #4214 for the next few days to catch the whole thing. The video player is kinda slow and seems to only work with Internet Explorer, but mess with it and it will work eventually!

Book: In Defense of Food (An Eaters Manifesto) by Michael Pollan Amazing book!

Bruce Ames, the renowned Berkeley biochemist, works with kids like this at Children's Hospital and Research Center in Oakland. He's convinced that our high-calorie, low-nutrient diet is responsible for many chronic diseases, including cancer. Ames has found that even subtle micronutrient deficiencies--far below the levels needed to produce acute deficiency diseases--- can cause damage to DNA that may lead to cancer.

AMEN!!

I'm (KIM, again) supposed to post 6 facts about myself and then tag 6 other people (this was really hard for me):

1. I eat a bowl of ice-cream probably almost every day (at least it's low fat!).
2. My two front teeth are fake, because they were hit out playing softball when I was 10 or 11 on my first day of softball practice. My sister Sara did it.

4. I absolutely love fuzzy socks, nice shampoo and reading nutrition labels.
5. I own a motorcycle and look darn good riding it!
6. A goal of mine is to someday buy a very fast four-wheeler with big sand tires. Another goal for my life is to read an autobiography of every LDS President, and every US President (I just made that goal and so far I'm half way through Joseph Smith, it's going to take a while).

February 1, 2008

so I USED to play rugby....

So I am going to school right now at Thunderbird School of Global Management and working on my MBA in International Marketing. The school is really great and I've been having a lot of fun. Since the school isn't part of an undergraduate university, we don't really have collegiate athletics except for a few club teams, on of which is the Rugby Football Club. I had never played before I came down here, but had played football so I thought I'd give it a try. Well, I had a lot of fun and was really enjoying the hitting until I had the unfortunate event of breaking my ankle. I was carrying to ball and got tackled and rolled on, and my foot twisted out instead of typically rolling in and the tendons on the inside of my foot tore part of the bone off the inside of my ankle. Sounds gross and painful I know, but...well, it is pretty painful. They said I should be down 6 to 8 weeks and hopefully won't need surgery but we'll see. My advice, still play rugby!!!!

Theses are my x-rays, the arrow points to the fracture. I know its small, but it does really hurt.
